Kyle Thom
Associate, B.A., J.D.

Kyle is a recent call to the Ontario Bar and an associate lawyer at MFC Lawyers. Kyle was born and raised in Goderich and now calls Burlington home. Kyle earned his a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2021 and his Juris Doctor from Queen’s University in 2024. While at Laurier, Kyle was a member of Laurier Moot Court, an undergraduate club that competed in various undergraduate moot competitions. As a member of Laurier Moot, Kyle was the runner-up and distinguished oralist at the 2021 University of Toronto Cup.
In his second year at Queen’s University, Kyle co-authored The Reform of Relocation Law in Ontario: The First Two Years with Professor Nicholas Bala, an internationally recognized expert on issues related to children, youth, and families in the justice system. The scope of Professor Bala and Kyle’s research was to analyze the 2021 amendments to the Divorce Act and Children’s Law Reform Act with respect to parental relocation. The findings of Professor Bala and Kyle’s research were presented at the 17th Family Law Summit in 2023.
Prior to joining MFC, Kyle worked as a Summer Law Student for a full service law firm in Goderich where he furthered his passion for advocacy and helping people navigate their legal matters. Kyle Joined MFC as an Articling Student in July 2024 and was called to the bar in 2025.
Outside of work, Kyle enjoys spending time with family, friends, and learning new things.
