Legal Administrative Assistant/Law Clerk - Family Law:
MFC Law Professional Corporation is a boutique family firm located in Guelph, Ontario. The firm is looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant/Law Clerk. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Legal Assistant/Law Clerk.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Answers incoming telephone calls, and scheduling appointments, maintains lawyers calendar; Scanning, photocopying, faxing and filing documents; Maintaining and organizing files (electronic and physical); Case management, including monitoring calendars and deadlines; maintaining a tickler system; Communicating with client’s including updating clients on matter status/progress and taking messages; Document collection, preparation and drafting, including the collection and maintenance of disclosure, drafting pl
eadings, financial statements, briefs, and other legal documents; Meet with clients to review and execute materials; General administrative duties including maintenance of office supplies;
Strong attention to detail; Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment; Ability to work independently; Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly both in written and verbal forms; Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills; Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel; Experience working with Divorcemate and legal management software (experience with Clio is an asset); Strong organizational and time management skills.
Minimum 3-5 years working a
s a Legal Assistant/Law Clerk; Legal Clerk/Assistant College Diploma is an asset; University degree is an asset;
